Lead Preschool Teacher (FT)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Program Director with both long and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy
  • Provide input for bi-annual assessments of child development
  • Maintain daily open communication with parents and uphold confidentiality
  • Report any suspect abuse to Program Director on the day of the incident
  • Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy
  • Organize and save all appropriate records (anecdotal records, attendance, timesheets, accident reports, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Provide a balance between quiet and active learning activities
  • Plan culturally diverse experiences
  • Involve students in planning and implementing learning activities
  • Provide an integrated curriculum that meets the needs of individual students
  • Support social and emotional development to nurture students to develop positive self-esteem and social skills
  • Assess program supplies and materials needed prior to implementing activities
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training
  • Meet all applicable licensing regulations

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must meet the requirements set forth by the State Licensing agency, which include the following:

  • Education with a minimum of 12 semester units in Child Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, and Program/Curriculum. Transcript required.
  • Is 18 years of age or older
  • Six months work experience (minimum of 3 hours per day for a minimum of 50 days in 6 months)
  • Current CPT/First Aid Certification
  • Health screening report with TB clearance
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • Signed Statement of Responsibility to Report Suspected Child Abuse
  • Child Abuse Index Check
  • Authorized to work in the United States

  • Fluency in Chinese language preferred
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch, lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Preschool Teacher Assistant (FT/PT)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and supervise children’s daily activities in a safe and healthy environment
  • Assist with morning drop-off or evening pick-up period
  • Assist Lead Teacher in decorating and cleaning classrooms
  • Assist Lead Teacher in planning the class curriculum
  • Report any suspect abuse to Program Director on the day of the incident
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training

Preschool Teacher Assistant reports to the Lead Preschool Teacher.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must meet the requirements set forth by the State Licensing agency, which include the following:

  • Education with a minimum of 6 semester units in Child Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, and Program/Curriculum. Transcripts showing coursework are required and will be part of the employee’s file.
  • Age 18 years or older
  • At least six months of work experience (minimum of 3 hours per day for a minimum of 50 days in 6 months)
  • Pass health screening report with TB clearance
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • Signed Statement of Responsibility to Report Suspected Child Abuse
  • Child Abuse Index Check

After School Learning Center Chinese Teacher (PT)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct instruction in Chinese and English to elementary-age students
  • Teach Simplified and Traditional Chinese to students with different levels of proficiency
  • Encourage and motivate students in Chinese learning
  • Prepare Chinese lessons following the school curriculum
  • Manage classroom of 10-20 students
  • Provide careful supervision, especially to safety, at all times
  • Work with the school to provide the best learning environment for the students and encourage positive behavior
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Interact professionally with parents, students, teachers, and staff verbally and in writing

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Simplified and Traditional Chinese
  • Have knowledge and skills to teach with prior group-teaching experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 18 years of age
  • 12 units of college course work in fields relating to school-age children preferred
  • Six months of experience working with children preferred
  • Able to communicate positively to children and adults
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • First Aid/CPR-certified preferred (or willing to obtain certification, MSLC will pay for the certification)
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Authorized to work in the United States

After School Learning Center Teacher Assistant (PT)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • +/- 20 hours per week
  • Ensure the welfare and safety of all students during school hours
  • Provide careful supervision for all students inside and outside classroom, with assistance of teacher and teacher assistant
  • Assist during class hours and snack time
  • Drive van or mini bus to local elementary schools to bring students to the school
  • Must be punctual and reliable

Qualifications

  • High school graduate, at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum 12 units of college course work in fields relating to school-age children
  • Six months of experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to communicate positively to children and adults
  • Mandarin speaker preferred
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • First Aid/CPR-certified preferred (or willing to obtain certification, MSLC will pay for the certification)
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Authorized to work in the United States

After School Learning Center B-license Driver (PT)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • +/- 10 hours per week
  • Ensure the welfare and safety of all students when picking them up from local elementary schools and dropping them off at MSLC
  • Provide careful supervision for all students when students are in the vehicle
  • Must be punctual and reliable

Qualifications

  • High school graduate, at least 18 years of age
  • Six months of experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to communicate positively to children and adults
  • Have California Driver’s License (Class – B)
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • First Aid/CPR-certified preferred (or willing to obtain certification, MSLC will pay for the certification)
  • Must have a clean driving record
