Greetings

Dear MSLC Preschool Families,
Now that it has (finally?) stopped raining, MSLC is gearing up for our annual water play event on Wednesday, June 1st! Please help prepare the children by:

  • Put on sunscreen before sending kids to school
  • Put on your child’s swimming clothes under their regular clothes
  • Pack a towel, change of clothes (including underpants and socks), a pair of sandals, an extra bag to hold wet clothes, and water toy(s)

In addition, we will be celebrating Father’s Day on Friday, June 17th at 5:30 PM. Your child/children and their teacher have been busy preparing wonderful things for you on this day. Look forward to seeing the fruits of their labor on this special day!

Best regards,
MSLC Office

June Birthdays: Happy Birthday to Ellie and Russell!

Remember, if you would like to celebrate your child’s birthday at school, please let your child’s teacher know one week in advance.

Classroom News and Notes

Sharing day is Monday of each week. Children are invited to bring in sharing objects that begin with the letter sound of the week; for example, a stuffed animal pig for the letter “p”. Books with the letter of the week in the theme or title are also welcome. Please make sure your child’s name is on the item so it doesn’t get mixed up or lost.

May Review

In May, our art projects included Mother’s Day cards and handprints. We worked hard on our Mother’s Day crafts and worked hard practicing our songs. We had a wonderful Mother’s day celebration; thank you to all the mothers, aunts and grandmothers for coming so we could celebrate you!

We learned about the bird, parts of a bird, and different species of birds. Live bird “cocktails” visited our class! We also enjoyed learning the bead stair from 1 to 9, cards and counters. We also learned about animals that live in Africa and where the continent is located on a map.
