Schedule

Session 1 (June 4-8): Lifestyle and Practical Life Skills

In this session, we will explore practical life skills like how to do your laundry at the laundromat and how to pack for a weekend trip. Students will brainstorm what items they think they’ll need and practice packing light. We will also learn useful housekeeping skills to help keep our living spaces clean and organized.

Session 2 (June 11-15): Museum Hop

Explore Bay Area museums each day of the week! We will be going to the California Academy of Sciences, Chabot Space and Science Center, Exploratorium, Pacific Pinball Museum and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Additional fees to cover admission, transportation and parking fees. Please see the registration form for details.

Session 3 (June 18-22): Cycling – Tour de Bay

Get fit and go green! As a part of a peloton–group of cyclists–we will ride together through Bayland, downtown Palo Alto, Shoreline Park, and Mitchell Park Rainbow Bridge through the paved paths for cyclists and pedestrians. You get a great work out from cycling and a chance to enjoy the view: see wildlife animals, and feel the breeze and the sun’s warmth.

Session 4 (June 25-June 29): How’s it made?

Discover how jelly beans are processed and how mattresses are made. Join us as we visit local factories. Additional fees to cover admission, transportation and parking fees. Please see the registration form for details.

Session 5 (July 2-6) CLOSED

Session 6 (July 9-13): Science – Solar & Electricity

Toss those old school science projects and play with new ideas. From bird-watching to exploring solar and battery-powered objects, we’ve got an interesting week planned for you.

Session 7 (July 16-20): MSLC Olympics Challenge

Compete in friendly games designed to challenge your mind and body. We will have obstacle courses and games inspired by the TV show, American Ninja Warrior. Prepare to have fun!

Session 8 (July 23-27): Food Adventure

Join us on a hunt for the best places to eat in the Bay Area! We will be trying restaurants with 4-5 star reviews on Yelp and comparing the reviews to our own experience. By the end of the week, your child will know which restaurants are up to the hype and why.

Session 9 (July 30-August 3): Little Chef

Put on an apron and learn how to cook through experimentation. Explore different ingredients and their measurements to see how it changes the taste of the dish. And learn how to change one dish to a new one with just a few ingredients.

Session 10 (August 6-10): Origami

Ever wonder how a piece of paper can turn into a roaring dinosaur? In the world of origami, roses never wilt and snowflakes never melt—they stay true to shape. Even Star Wars’ Origami Yoda says, “Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size do you?” “Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.” Come and join the Force.
